Prodigal Son

Bloggin is good and writing is the way to unleash the pent up emotions deep inside. Today I just recovered my lost password and here I am now writing again after years of neglecting my blog. I was going round in circles trying to figure out my password. A password not used for years would definitely cause some memory lapses. Cut the long intros... It's just good to be back

Unexpected Expense

Last Saturday(Sept 3 , 2005) I went to Makati at the MRT Ayala Station to pick up Berna since that was the most practical way and the most cost effecient solution because the money that I gave her so that she could comover here in Parañaque was not sufficient enough so instead of her taking the cab which is very expensive we agreed that I will just pick her up.

Before going to Makati, I had a good conversation with my Mom and she agreed to buy me a Laptop if I could get a credit card and she will pay for the deffered payment.

Because of that I ended up strolling Glorieta to look for computer shops that sells Laptops on a deffered payment. It has been an hour and still no text from Berna so I decided to visit the Happy Days shop the one that Velden, my brother in CYM told me about. When I got there I saw this cool Ninoy T-shirt, It was sold at 250. I bought the shirt and went straight to the comfort room to change into my Ninoy T-shirt. After that I got some more brochures about Laptops, I went back to the MRT station at around 4:00 and still no sign of Berna so I decided to visit CD-R king to buy some blank CD's since Berna was asking me to give her a copy of one of the installers that she borrowed from me.

Berna arrived twenty minutes later and she said she was very hungry so we ate at KFC again I ended up spending 250. On our way back I asked Berna is brought the installer Ate Ima was borrowing. She was shocked and said that she forgot it and begged me to just buy another installer to replace the one she left at home. And so we bought a MS Office XP at the tiange it cost 150.

The next day I went to have my haircut at the Index Salon, because my friend Velden told me that hair cut there was cheap but the service was good. Compared to the haircut at ALS which is 110 at Index it was only 40 so it was really a big saving and again it was through a brothers influence why I went there, Berna joined me and asked if she could also have her hair cut. I said yes, unfortunately one or the beauticians asked Berna if she wanted her hair to be treated because of her dandruff so Berna upon consulting me said Yes to the one asking, the treatment cost 200.

So that weekend I ended up spending more than what I should have saved...

Weekends

Eat sleep and be merry for Monday you go back to work!!!!

Saturday (Aug 6, 2005) I woke up at 9 in the morning, It was one of those Saturdays that I was able to stay in bed longer and thanks to the weather It was so conducive for sleep. After breakfast I drove mom to SM Sucat she did her short grocery and bought some school stuff at Natio…
After lunch just like Garfield I went straight to bed, I slept and woke up just in time for the prayer meeting. On our way atleast half a block away the car had a flat tire, but God was really good because even if we didn’t have a spare tire the incident happened in front of Arvyn’s house so I borrowed a pump to inflate the spare and the car was in working condition although the other tire could not be repaired anymore, anyway it was as old as the car so I think it needed to retire anyway.

After the prayer meeting Berna and I had dinner at mommy’s house then we just stayed in Ate Tes’s house. It felt like years the last time we sat on the couch and had a good chat and of course she scratched my psoriatic back while my head rested on her lap… in short we had our Quality Time and we did it till midnight, after that I brought her to Ate Ima’s house where she will stay for the night.

Sunday (Aug. 7, 2005) I got up at around 8:30 and we had breakfast with Ate Ima and Kuya Malo, after breakfast we heard mass then we went straight to mom’s house to eat lunch. Mom was caught off guard she did not expect us to eat there. We ended up eating Maling, and of course coke…
After Lunch we went back to hibernation Berna and I woke up around 5 in the afternoon. After that Berna and I had snacks, after eating I called Arvyn asking him if we could use his car in taking Berna back to QC since it was not safe to take the Rio with no spare tire all the way to EDSA and he agreed. After that we went back to our couch were we discussed other means to earn extra income of course while I rested my head on Berna’s Lap and she was scratching my back…

I took Berna home after dinner and got home at around 11:30 But I never felt sleepy, why should I was sleeping the whole weekend.

Two rookies and a Veteran

Thursday (Aug.4 2005) It was raining real hard while we were having our meeting. Veia, Master Kris and Me. I was not suppose to preside over the meeting, but since I was the only old member of the core, they bombarded me with several questions, all of which were answered well and good, based on my 12 years experience in CYM. For once I felt like as if I was the core head…

Victoria's Secret

All good things must come to an end.

Sunday, July 31, I took my sister to NAIA for her flight to the US, her two months vacation has ended. It was so quick, I didn't even had the chance to go to Virra Mall or Tutuban with her, thou she went there several times in her two-month stay.

For two months, their house(the one in staying in) was revitalized, it gave out the same aura that it use to have before they left for the USA, the noise of the chatter and the cuties playing around was always heard.
The never ending fashion show of all the stuff she bought in Greenhills and the other bargain centers, the parties and reunions of long lost family friends and relatives. The attempt to wake up early on weekends just to catch the TAHO vendor and join them for breakfast, the congested RIO on our way to mom's house just to eat lunch and dinner together, her famous crushed ice...

but all that has come to pass, it was her flight last Sunday, the same lively and vibrant house is again empty and the only thing that lingers are the thoughts and the scent of her perfume.

For your viewing pleasure

Yesterday(July 17, 2005) I went to Berna's house to have lunch with her family and relatives. After lunch I watched TV while my honey plucked white hair from her mom's head. She was so busy with what she was doing that I already finished watching LXG(League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) on Star Movies.

As agreed upon, we will watch Fantastic Four at SM City North Edsa, so after that Berna got dressed and we left, we arrived there a few minutes before the showing time, just enough time to get good seats and buy some popcorn.

The movie was nice, except that there were few fighting scenes and there was only one scene where they used their powers to save people... talk about heroism. Fantastic Four was one of the comic books I used to read when I was a kid and I really loved their adventures, especially the ones involving fighting crime and saving people, but to give due credits to the actors and actresses(especially Jessica Alba, WOWOWEEEEEE!!!!) they did well and so were the visual effects. Over all it was a movie worth watching and waiting for.

After the movie Berna and I strolled along mall, we passed by National bookstore. I was planning to buy a book on JavaScript, my budget was only 350, unfortunately the cheapest I could find was at 550, so I just decided I would buy one next month, anyway it is not yet that badly needed.

We ate dinner at Berna's and after dinner I joined her family to pray the rosary. After praying we watched CSI, there were 3 episodes that night I opted not to watch the last since it was already 11 and I had classes the next day, 6 sections to be exact, so I went home around 11.When I arrived in Parañaque it was almost 12midnight, but I really felt relax that day, I didn't even have a hard time getting up from bed.

As of writing it is really pouring hard outside, hoping for a "NO CLASES" announcement from the dep Ed and PAGASA will be highly appreciated.

sentiments of a veteran...

It feels good to be back, after being in hiatus for almost a month, it feels good to be able to post some messages again. Berna has been bugging me day and night to update my blogspot and so at long last I have.

A long long time ago I use to remember being in the frontline, the Coach would always pick me out of the many players He had, I was always in the starting line up, part of His starting five… but that was long ago…

Last Saturday there was a game and all the players suited up for the game and so did I, waiting, hoping even if I told my other team mates I don’t want to play. In my heart I did. I was waiting for this chance over and over again, hoping that somehow I would be called to play again…

I’m not talking about basketball, Its something more exciting, It’s about the core selection last Saturday. Before I was always chosen by the Lord but now Im just on the bench waiting, hoping that the Lord would still call me… I have stayed in this bench long enough, I just wish I could make a winning basket in the championships before I fully hang my jersey in CYM’s hall of fame.

Happy Anniv!!!

I haven’t blogged for almost a month now so here’s what’s happened to me for the past few days or should I say weeks.

Last June 10, the music ministry had its practice for the youth mass at Lyra’s house, it was an ordinary day for most of the CYM members, well not for me, I was a day away from celebrating my 3rd Anniversary with Berna. It was really funny because me and the Juice boys wanted to have some Juice…when we say Juice it means eight o clock with some gin on it… but Ate Lyra and Mama Berns would not allow us and so we just settled for coke but we still stayed there till past twelve.
Velden and Kris decided to go on a joyride so they went with me all the way to Project Six to take Berna home. At last someone from CYM knew what tour de Edsa means.

June 11, got home at around 2am.

I had my check up with my Ortho Dr. Ellewellyn Passion, he told me that I have scoliosis although it is not yet that serious. After my check up I went home to change. I am going to meet Berna at RP. Berna’s college friends scheduled a reunion, and of all the dates on our anniversary, anyway, I got there at around 3:30 we were suppose to meet up at four, I was wondering where Berna was she told me she left at two, coming from QC. She should be at RP that time. I called her on the fone only to find out that she was stuck in the traffic in Espanya

Finally Berna arrived and we ate at Ice monster together with Kline, Rachel and Rachel’s Korean student at ECI, after eating we went straight to the Youth Mass. It was nice to spend an anniversary hearing mass together.

There was no fellowship after the Youth Mass so we decided to go to Friomix and eat there. It was really different this time thinking that Berna and I were planning to go out on a fancy dinner for just the two of us, only to end up eating at Frio with the rest of CYM. It was really fun celebrating a special date with special set of friends….

Sportsfest

Last Sunday (June 5, 2005), CYM together with the adults had their sports fest at the ROMVI gym. It was really fun and out of the three events that I joined I won two. Free throw shooting and darts. The free throw shooting consisted of five participants two youth and three adults. We were asked to shoot as many hoops as we can in the span of five minutes, the adults as expected moved slow than me and Jonathan but they converted and Jonathan the other youth just dropped basket after basket, last two minutes and we only had 18 points but the shots just kept on pouring in and with 30 seconds left we had 24 points but Jonathan and I banged 2 points each which gave us the edge at 28 points. The yellow team threatened our lead but they were 2 points short.

In darts I competed with Kuya Ed who was the representative of the yellow team. It was years since I really played darts in Arvyn’s garage, but the good thing is that I still have it in me. It wasn’t the usual dart game that you need to hit a certain area three times to close the number it was hit-once-close-the-number. I led the tournament with 3 numbers ahead of Kuya Ed. They did not require us to hit the bulls eye. As the darts event ended our team leader, Tita Linda approached me and said, we are the over all champions.

WE TOOK HOME THE TROPHY!

Before the awarding ceremonies, we played basketball. I was bumped from behind by Jomel, the hell the bump was not that hard but I had to be substituted and I left grimacing in pain. It was really painful, as if a ligament was torn on my shoulder, that’s what you get for not playing for almost a year. My shooting skills were still there but the other essentials… well I still need to look for them… it was still there the last time I played. 2 years ago.
